Teeth Whitening

How often are you envious of someone else’s bright white teeth? Do they seem to have a natural air of confidence? How do they keep their teeth looking so healthy and white? Even if you take great care of your teeth (brushing and flossing), they might not look as bright as you would like.

Did you know that coffee and red wine stains the enamel of your teeth?

Do those other people simply avoid the food and drink that is known to stain teeth?

While certain food and drink certainly can cause staining, everyone’s teeth are different. You may be able to drink a cup of coffee without any staining, when your friend can’t without enduring hours of darker teeth after one cup of coffee.

The majority of adults with brighter teeth have had their teeth professionally whitened.

In the same way that we each have different skin and hair tones, our teeth also have varying shades of color. Some people will have naturally whiter teeth while others are more yellow to begin with.

Adding in teeth whitening, on top of a good oral health routine, can help to maintain the bright, vibrant smile you are looking for.

Teeth Whitening Before & After

What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is a process where a product is applied to your teeth that breaks down the molecules in your teeth which darken the enamel. The process breaks the molecules from a yellow color down into a colourless state. Once this happens, the residual product is naturally removed by your saliva.

We proudly use Philips Zoom for our in-office professional teeth whitening. Zoom uses blue LED light-accelerated technology to rapidly whiten your teeth with improved luster and reduced sensitivity. In only one appointment, your teeth can be up to 8 shades lighter.

How long does teeth whitening last?

Depending upon your brushing, flossing and oral care habits, teeth whitening can last approximately two years, however, during this time, the colour generally tends to fade. In order to maintain the whiteness of your teeth, we recommend a top-up with your custom-made take home trays every 6 months or so.

How long will it take to whiten my teeth?

Appointments for teeth whitening in our office last approximately 60 minutes (as compared with the 2 weeks to see the result from at-home whitening).

Improve your self-confidence with whiter teeth

Stop hiding your beautiful smile because you feel ashamed or self-conscious about your yellowing teeth. Though confidence is an internal feeling, often we focus on our outward appearance. By whitening your teeth, you will gain the confidence to show off your stunningly bright smile once again.
